Buildings can be created by clicking the Lots -> Buildings button in the Draw / Convert section of Allsite ribbon. You can even convert block references (as long as they are made up of a closed polyline / lines that make a closed polyline).

Default building settings

When buildings are converted/created they inherit default settings from their linked Allsite.ai project (you can see all Level AI settings on the web or via the Settings button in the Civil 3D Allsite ribbon). These settings define the initial values for things such as building foundation specs that contribute to cutfill. See below for more information on different lot types.

Building Settings

Default building settings come from the web (see above) and can be customized per element. Remember you can use the QSELECTPROPERTYSET command to select specific buildings.

Setting

Description

Foundation

Specify the type of foundation (POLE or SLAB). Pole houses can be used on very steep parcels. SLAB is default. If SLAB, you can specify the thickness of the pad and subbase.

Max Cut / Fill

Define the maximum amount of cut or fill allowed for the building pad.

Min / Max Elevation

Allow you to specify a building to be above/below a certain elevation. Some common uses for this are:

- to keep out of a flood zone

- to ensure building is elevated for views.

Number of levels

This is used for digital rendering of the building.

Number bedrooms

This is used by Service AI for capacity assessment of sanitary pipes (along with Sanitary Servicing settings in the web)

Related Types

Up to 2x relationships can be set on a building, for example a fixed offset between 2 buildings or a min/max relationship between a building and a nearby road / curb. Refer to help documentation on relationships for more information.
