This provides a walk through describing how to select specific objects/features within your model for fast bulk editing of property dataset attributes.

Running Property Dataset Select command

Run the command QSELECTPROPERTYSET (C3D 2026+ only), this pops up a window. Enter the object type (most Allsite objects are polylines). Select the operator (wildcard, equals, etc) and value.

Alternatively, run the command PDSELECT

  1. Type command PDSELECT

  2. Select a subset of objects to search or hit enter to search entire model space

  3. Optionally narrow down to a particular layer

  4. Select which property data set you want to select from (a partial, case insensitive lookup)

  5. Enter the field/property within the property data set to query. Alternatively, leave blank to select all items with matching property dataset name from previous step.

  6. Enter value to match, this is an exact match on the property data set value

  7. Now all the items matching the criteria are selected.

Bulk Editing

After selecting a group of items with a matching attribute they can be bulk edited. Select the Property via the Extended data tab. In this example we are updating the snap direction of grade breaks on 523 walls.

This can take 5-10s if updating thousands of objects.
